Position: Cardiology PACS Technician

Details: To support Defense Health Agency (DHA) Integrated Clinical Systems Program Management Office (ICS-PMO) Technology Assessment and Requirements Analysis program with on-site survey and on-site acceptance testing visits to MTFs and field units worldwide to evaluate and make recommendations as to the condition of, replacement of, and upgradability of existing image management systems within the MTFs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of common technical terms and specifications relative to medical products, supplies, and services and the ability to effectively communicate these with vendors and/or customers.
- Knowledge of clinical maintenance engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to medical facilities and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with medical equipment and/or products and their usage.
- Ability to evaluate and then modify standard practices and adapt techniques to solve problems.
- Knowledge of standard observation, measuring, and analysis techniques and test equipment.
- Ability to analyze and summarize finding of others and support preparing specifications, recommendations, presentations, and briefings.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with and gaining the confidence/ cooperation of managers to accept proposals and recommendation/suggestions.
- Experience with preparing technical reports, proposals, charts, and graphs.
- Skill in using office automation systems and computer applications including the ability to develop and implement new systems.
- Work on-site at government Program Management Office (PMO) (not in the Clinic).
- Provide advise/consultation regarding operations/function of the Picture Archiving and
- Communications Systems (PACS).
- Oversees equipment maintenance/life cycle and systems testing, upgrading, and installing.
- Liaison between the Cardiology department, customers, and vendors.
- Maintain knowledge on assigned PACS systems and work processes.
- Coordinate with vendors and various departments/clinics to resolve issues on assigned PACS system.
- Oversees training to all new users for all PACS systems.

Desired Skills:
- Robust organizational skills in verbal & written form, including presentations, report generation and accurate documentation.
- Ability to apply knowledge of information theory, computer science and/or engineering, and systems analysis to integrated operational systems for specific and complex medical device systems.
- Demonstrated skill in in communicating and working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including technical and professional staff at various levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cardiology business and clinical practices to include cardiology workflow.
- Knowledge of systems analysis and design techniques, pertinent characteristics of software, computer equipment, cardiovascular information system integration and standards-based architecture.
- Knowledge of concepts, policies, procedures, and implementation strategies, to accomplish delivery of business requirements, processes, products, and services.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
- JCAHO, American College of Cardiology (ACC) and Food and Drug Administration
- FDA requirements as they relate to medical image management systems.
